With Giant Shoulders, for Reliant Health Partners
Client
Giant Shoulders is a strategic branding agency in Rhode Island, focused on helping purpose-driven leaders create a better future. I’d worked with them previously on a contract basis (e.g. on website copy for AlphaRidge), and they asked me to join them at the strategy stage of a rebrand for Reliant Health Partners. Reliant provides health insurance repricing services to large employers with self-funded health plans. They use advanced proprietary methods to deliver consistently deep healthcare discounts with minimal friction.
Need
At the time when they hired Giant Shoulders, Reliant had recently been purchased by a private equity firm, and needed to accelerate sales growth. Their 10+ years of data and strong testimonials proved that their innovative approach gets impressive results. But their branding and marketing needed an overhaul that would enable scalable sales. Reliant urgently needed a simpler way to explain their increasingly complex suite of services to prospects, networking partners, and new sales staff.
Solution
Giant Shoulders contracted me to provide both brand messaging strategy, and website strategy and copywriting. Before meeting with Reliant, I consulted with Giant Shoulders’ owner and project manager, to plan improved processes around messaging and copywriting. This helped streamline the agency’s client experience, and gave them more internal control over project timelines. Then I embedded into their strategy process, working directly with some of the client’s founders, C-suite, and top sales staff. Once we reached a consensus on messaging and scope, I wrote the copy for Reliant’s new website.
Result
Close collaboration with Giant Shoulders’ in-house designer and developer ensured a smooth, compelling user experience throughout. By translating a very niche, hyper-technical service into terms the audience can easily understand, we gave everyone at Reliant more effective talking points. This also greatly simplified the customer journey. In fact, after launching the site, Reliant saw more website leads in just a few months than they had in the previous decade.
